Boost Your Sales with Amazon A+ Content: Basic vs. Premium Breakdown
Whether you are a New Seller or have been selling on Amazon for a while now, using A+ Content is one of the recommended steps, which offers a set of brand, logistics, pricing, and promotional services that are designed to fuel the growth of sellers. A+ Content is used as a way to improve conversion rates, increase brand awareness, answer common customer questions and highlight a product’s features and benefits. Here we’re going to take a detailed look at the 2 levels of A+ Content, what they have to offer, and the differences between them; A+ Content Basic and A+ Premium.
For new sellers, or for those who have been selling on Amazon and haven’t used A+ Content, the Basic level is the only available option. Under the A+ Content Manager in Amazon Seller Central, you’ll find an area where you can begin a draft of preformatted modules that you can customize. Amazon’s A+ Basic uses images, customized text, and shoppable comparison charts to highlight key features and improve product descriptions. Only as of recently has Amazon begun to limit the amount of shoppable comparison tables that a seller can add (a limit of only 1 per draft.) This mix of preformatted modules maxes out at seven and offers a variety of options from a static image of a certain size to scrolling images within a single module. It is up to your imagination and creativity as to what functional modules are best suited to display visual information about your product. Modules within Basic A+ Content also have a gap in between them which can lead to a disjointed look, but utilized properly can still look visually appealing.
For more experienced sellers who have been using A+ Content for some time might find available within their account the ability to add A+ Premium to their listings. To qualify for Amazon Premium A+ Content, you must meet the following requirements:
Brand Registry: Have Brand Registry connected to your Seller Central account
A+ Brand Story: Publish an A+ Brand Story to all ASINs in your catalog
A+ Content submissions: Have at least 15 A+ Content project submissions approved within the past 12 months
If you have met these requirements, then you are eligible to use Amazon’s A+ Premium feature. So what is it and what are the benefits of it? To put simply; A+ Premium offers more versatile modules and more customization options. It also eliminates the gap between the modules to allow for a more full body, and cohesive look. A+ Premium uses interactive hotspots, larger images, videos to create an even more engaging and informative product listing. By looking at the 2 examples below you’ll visually be able to see the difference between A+ Content Basic (left) and A+ Premium (right).
Overall, it is a good idea to engage with Amazon’s A+ features whether you’re just starting out or if you need to up the ante to have a more competitive advantage and to have a more interactive and engaging product listing experience for your customers. To recap the differences between A+ Basic and Premium:
Basic - Use images, customized text, and shoppable comparison charts to highlight key features and improve product descriptions
Premium - Use interactive hotspots, larger images, videos, and more to create engaging and informative product listings
