1. New Brand Analytics Dashboards

Amazon has just launched two new Brand Analytics Search Dashboards, which help give new views into searches that attract customers to your brand. These give you some more in-depth insight into what keywords are boosting your product listings!

The Search Catalog Performance dashboard provides a product view of key shopping metrics, including impressions, clicks, cart adds, and purchases. These can be useful to know which ASINs are higher performing, because you can then base your advertisements off of those ASINs. 

The Search Query Performance dashboard gives insight to what queries led customers to you. This includes Brand and ASIN level performance for each query. The Search Query is a true game changer for Sellers! The dashboard shows your top ranking keywords, and how you can base your advertisements to improve your ratio of clicks to purchases. 

2. Small Business Badge

Amazon is testing out a new feature that promotes shopping small, with a new Small Business Badge, appearing on a detail page for a brand that fits into their definition of a Small Business. A “Small Business” qualifies as less than 100 employees, and makes less than $50 million in annual revenue. I know, this is a very wide range for what most of us would consider a “small business”! We could expect a more specific definition of this down the line, but as it’s a new feature still under development, we can only count on this as the requirement. To be eligible, your brand must also be registered with Amazon Brand Registry, or participate in Amazon Handmade

So far Amazon is just testing this feature out with a small number of detail pages, so if you’re wondering where your badge is, hold tight! We’re sure that this feature will be expanding once Amazon sees how their beta goes. In the meantime, if you would like to apply to be one of the brands with this badge, you can contact Selling Partner Support, provide your brand and company name, business address, and Merchant Token ID, where you will be reviewed for eligibility. With this badge, your brand could be included in special events and promotions exclusive to businesses with the badge!


Currently, we don’t have much information about how to find these brands, besides what Amazon notes here. But we expect to have another update in the near future, so we will spread the news to you once it gets to us! 


3. Just a “Little Something Light”

For the Sellers that enjoy the perks of FBA Small and Light, you will love this update! As of April 28, 2022, the price threshold for these products was raised from $8 to $10. This means that your product can have an increase of $2, while still being eligible for this program! 

If you haven’t yet heard about this, FBA Small and Light is a program that rewards products with lower fulfillment fees that ship through Fulfillment by Amazon. The product must be in new condition, measure 18” x 14” x 8” or less, and weigh 3 lbs. or less. These products do however exclude a certain number of categories, noted here


BONUS: Now, For The Not So Light.

Amazon recently announced that they are implementing a change in FBA fulfillment fees, as a result of the economic changes that we all unfortunately know about. 

Amazon claims to have absorbed a lot of the economic challenges that have affected the world, to avoid any impact to Sellers. However, as of late, they have been unable to avoid the inevitable increase in prices of, well, everything. One thing that has really affected Amazon is the inflation of fuel prices. With the number of Prime trucks that pass my house daily, it’s unimaginable how much the company must falter from fuel costs alone. 

As of April 28, 2022, Amazon implemented a 5% fuel and inflation surcharge to FBA fulfillment fees. The announcement also explains that this surcharge is subject to change as inflation ebbs and flows. 


On the page detailing the new change, there are tables that note the different size tiers for dimension categories. These note changes in FBA fulfillment fees for three categories:

  • Core (excluding apparel)

  • Apparel

  • Dangerous goods

These are quite useful tools to get a solid grasp on the before and after prices that Sellers can expect with this increase.
