MAY RECAP: Top 3 Amazon Seller Updates
1. Prime Day Advertising Prep
Prime Day is sneaking up on us quickly! And, yes, sneaking is the only appropriate term, as we still don’t have a definite date as to when Prime Day will be! It has been confirmed that it will be happening in July, and most people are guesstimating that it will either be the weekend of the 15th, or that of the 22nd.
If you have been debating on creating a brand store, there is still time for it to get approved and processed! While we typically say to plan for a waiting period of 2-4 weeks, this will leave you more than enough time to build your brand and have it ready to reel in sales.
If you’re looking for new places to shop on Amazon, be sure to check out the Support Small category here and keep an eye out for any Prime Day deals they may be sneaking in!!
2. Brand Referral Bonus Program
This bonus for Amazon Sellers is a big advantage for those that utilize other marketing services to get word of their product around. Whether it’s by email marketing, social media marketing, paid search ads, display ads, etc.
If you have implemented these methods to your marketing and haven’t yet activated your Brand Referral Bonus, you could be missing out on getting money back!!
This program makes the offer of giving you an additional average of 10% of the product sales that are driven to your Amazon store, by your marketing efforts, that are not run by Amazon. The bonus does vary slightly depending on the product category.
Amazon has even provided a step-by-step guide on how to activate this bonus.
3. Climate Pledge Friendly
As we all know, most people have been trying to move to a more climate-friendly business world. Many companies are striving to be friendly to both the economy, and the environment around us! Amazon has a goal to become carbon neutral, or achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2040. This is the Climate Pledge.
Seller University has a training module now available to all Sellers, titled Intro to Climate Pledge Friendly. This gives insight to why and how Amazon is planning to accomplish this goal, and what you can do to help this effort!! The module also gives resources for finding, selling, and identifying the pro’s of CPF products. We should all be doing our part to make the world a more sustainable, and happier place. This could be your first step!
BONUS (Not Really...): Remote Fulfillment with FBA
If you haven’t heard of Remote Fulfillment with FBA, this is a fulfillment method that allows FBA users to make their inventory that is available to the US marketplace for sale in Canada and Mexico, as well.
While Amazon has been able to expand advantageous opportunities over the past couple of years, that does come with a cost to their team. This expansion has allowed for almost one million job roles to be added, along with a rise in the company’s average hourly wage. But for these improvements, there must be a balance of give and take.
To balance out these increases, the Remote Fulfillment with FBA fees will be increasing on June 30. This will affect all size groups, as shown here.
